Here at Painesville Credit Union, we’re getting SERIOUS about slow cooker meals by sharing our very best tried-and-true recipes, and this creamed corn is just about as traditional (and delicious) as it gets.
I make – are you ready for this? – three kinds of corn and two or three kinds of potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner. Let’s face it, you have to have mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving, plus I make creamed corn, buttered corn (very simple) and corn casserole. That way everyone gets their favorite.
Try this five-ingredient Thanksgiving Day wonder and see how fancy but simple your holiday corn can be! Plus, I make this in the crock pot so it won’t take up oven space on the big day!
Makes 5 servings
30 oz. frozen corn
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese (cubed)
¼ cup butter
1 tbsp. sugar
½ tsp. salt
Directions: spray your slow cooker with cooking spray and combine all ingredients in the slow cooker. Cook on low (covered) for about 3 hours or until the corn is tender. Give it a stir before serving.
